This upcoming break I will be spending my last winter as a DU undergrad in Colorado. Having spent the majority of my winter break in Tanzania last year, this year will be quite different. Here is a list of my plans for the next six weeks:
Work
Having recently started a new internship position as a marketing intern, I plan to work full-time during break. In addition to my internship, I plan on pitching as many articles as I can to publications and publishing articles in order to improve my writing skills and have another source of income.
Read
A list of books awaits my attention and I plan to check as many off of that list as I can. Not only will it help me with my writing, but I love to read and never have time to do so during the DU quarter system.
Explore Colorado
In the time that I have been in Colorado, I have travelled to many different cities within the state. However, I’m not sure if I plan on staying in Colorado after graduation and that being said, I’d like to see as much of it as I can. Even though snowboarding isn’t my forte, I plan on doing that at least once this break and any other activities that are outdoors.
Visit Family
As I am from California (and my boyfriend is, too), we are travelling to California for Christmas this year. We will spend the first four days or so with my family in Huntington Beach where we can visit our friends we went to high school with and spend time with my family. I’ll get to see my nieces (who I’m very excited to see) and celebrate Christmas with those that I love. Then for the following four days or so, we will be in LA to visit my boyfriend’s mom and his family that is flying down to LA from Washington to celebrate Christmas.
Hopefully I’ll make it through this week, so I can get to do all of these wonderful things… Wish me luck!
The way this paper is written is generally how I would go about writing other listicle or similar writing assignments. I had a plan in my head of what I would write about then set out to write the different sections. During the process, I made quite a few edits but most of my edits took place at the end. I also fixed the formatting along with grammar and word count towards the end. As for my general setting, I wrote this page in my room with my door closed so I could block out noise from my roommate. I listened to relaxing music from Spotify and it took me about 19 minutes to finish writing 350 words. Overall, it was interesting to see how I typed my sentences and how I think about each sentence in fragments. In the video, I was able to watch how I wrote one section of a sentence and then thought about the next section instead of writing each sentence in one fluid motion and then editing it after.
